Setup Gnome Tweaks ​

Basic Setup ​

Create these folders:

mkdir -p ~/.local/share/themes
mkdir -p ~/.config/gtk-4.0

Download the latest adw-gtk3 theme tar.xz package under ‘Assets‘ section from this link. Extract and move the folders (‘adw-gtk3‘ and ‘adw-gtk3-dark‘) to ~/.local/share/themes directory.

Gnome Extensions ​

Install following Gnome extensions by visiting this link:

  • User Themes
    • Set it to Custom-Accent-Colors.
  • Custom Accent Colors
    • Set Accent Color to Green.
    • Enable all the Extra Options.
  • Impatience
    • Default works.
  • Blur my Shell
    • Under General tab, Set Sigma to 125 and Brightness to 0.70.
    • Under Panel tab, Disable Panel Blur.
  • Burn My Windows
    • Enable all animations except the following:
      • Energize A
      • Energize B
      • Hexagon
      • Paint Brush
      • Pixelate
      • Pixel Wheel
      • Portal
      • Wisps
  • Removable Drive Menu
    • No Options.
  • Search Light
    • Set Search shortcut to CTRL + ALT + Space.
    • Set Text Size to 16pt and Search Text Size to 18pt.
    • Set Width to 0.50 and Height to 0.75.
    • Set Border color to #3BAE7B and set radius slightly that it still looks sharp (looks better when expanded after search).
    • Set Background color to #3BAE7B
  • Systemd Manager
    • Default works.
  • Vitals
    • Default works.
  • (Optional) CoverFlow Alt Tab (Has issues/bugs, so not recommended)

Gnome Settings ​

Change these Gnome Settings using the Tweaks App:

  • Select Windows in sidebar.
  • Under Titlebar Buttons, change these:
    • Enable Maximize and Minimize buttons.
    • Set Placement to Left.
